RAVENOUS was assembled a couple of years ago with the aim to create something completely new and
different to existing styles. After a long period of production, the band was pleased with the
results, and that they could be pleased showed in the reaction of the record companies towards
their first demo. There have been several offers and so Ravenous was born. The first masterpiece
"MASS MENTAL CRUELTY" was released on the German label OFF BEAT. Followed by the 4 track CD
"Lemmings".
After a year Ravenous decided to end their cooperation with Off Beat, there have been problems
which made it impossible for Ravenous to work and trust Off Beat any more. A new label was found
soon, ZOTH OMMOG, which already released other projects of RAVENOUS members. One and a half year
after the release of their debut, the second long player "NO RETREAT AND NO SURRENDER" was
published by ZOTH OMMOG. An American label "JARRET RECORDS" was found which licensed Ravenous
second CD for the United States. The last release is the maxi Silverray, taken from the new Album
which is expected in winter 1999, and will lead Ravenous in the new millenium.

RAVENOUS deals with the injustice in the society we all live in. The struggle and fight against
these conditions are excellently represented on the debut CD and follow like a red line throughout
the whole album. On the second CD they go even further, and leave the easy structures to become even
more intense. RAVENOUS display with their art of music a more or less negative view of our daily
life, but they don't want to contribute to the big depression so many people fall in, it is more
about the fight and life in its essential form. It is about the right for a fulfilled time on
earth. All this is represented already in their band name "RAVENOUS". It stands for the struggle
in each of us, to be ravenous for life, although we are always fought back by injustice and
despair. Who in the end will win this fight in the entropy of live is always uncertain, but what
would be the life without hope.
Music
As mentioned earlier it is pretty hard to describe the style of their music. It is a mixture of
everything, as the RAVENOUS members come from such different music styles like hard rock/glam rock,
soul/blues, and industrial/dark wave. So their style is a mixture of all existing music styles as
well. This will be noticed by listening to all the work they have done so far. There is always a
developing process to be found. Nothing sounds similar. With each CD they take it one step further.
